The Ogdensburg First Aid Squad will disband, Councilwoman Brenda O’Dell announced at the borough’s Oct. 26 council meeting.
Mayor George Hutnick said there are ongoing problems with emergency services across Sussex County. Ogdensburg residents will receive ambulance and first aid services through Atlantic Health Care, St. Claire’s, and the 911 dispatcher in Sparta. The first available ambulance unit will arrive from Sparta, Wallkill, and other locations, he said.
The borough is now figuring out what to do with the Ogdensburg First Aid Squad’s property and equipment, O’Dell said.
Borough attorney Robert McBriar said the property will revert to the borough if used for any other function than emergency services.
