Performing Arts Awards and Scholarships presented

    The Cast of the Aladdin: Jafar, Brian Losco (Vernon); Sultan, Ryan Shinall (Hamburg); The Genei, Emily Moreno (Vernon); Jasmine, Brooke Harrsch (Vernon); Aladdin, Ethan Kimball (Vernon); and Abu, Chance Decker (Hamburg).

VERNON — Ziegler Dance Centre’s recital “Aladdin” will be held at Vernon High School on June 28, 29 and 30.

Proceeds from the performances are used to award graduating seniors at Vernon Township High School and Wallkill Valley High School who are continuing their endeavors in the performing arts by being presented the Ziegler Dance Centre Performing Arts Award.

The recipients from VTHS are Ariel Clouse, Christina Comizio, Tara Kolakoski, Megan Logue, Kristen McCormack, Joanna Pirnat, Michael Rossi, Yvonee Setlock, Alixandra VanLenten; and the recipients from WVHS are Emily Vanderhoff and Marisa Walker.

The Kevin Ziegler Memorial Scholarship in Visual Arts is also funded through the proceeds and is presented to a senior at Vernon High School. The recipient is Abby Couser.

Over the past 23 years Ziegler Dance Centre has presented more than $70,000 to area students through these awards and scholarships.
