Student work displayed in exhibit

LAYTON. Named Best in Show was ‘Grown with Love’ by Julia Moskal of High Point Regional High School.

Artwork by several area high school students was featured in the 15th annual High School Student Exhibition at Peters Valley School of Craft in Layton.

The exhibition featured works from High Point Regional High School, Kittatinny Regional High School, Sparta High School, Wallkill Valley Regional High School, Blair Academy, Bloomfield High School, Delaware Valley High School, Fort Lee High School, Montville High School, Roxbury High School and Watchung Hills Regional High School.

Work ranged from ceramics, painting, photography and collage to textiles, jewelry and mixed media sculptures.

This year, Peters Valley awarded the full-tuition Huber-Weyer Scholarship to the “Best in Show” for a Peters Valley Workshop of their choice and certificates for second place and third place. In addition, there were three Honorable Mentions.

Named Best in Show was “Grown with Love” by Julia Moskal of High Point.

Second place went to “Potty Mouth” by Eva Turturro of Sparta and third place went to “Leaning on the Edge” by Marcus Bui of Wallkill Valley.

“Fragmented Florals” by Savannah Oquendo of High Point received an Honorable Mention for creative use of materials.
