Sullivan earns Eagle Scout Court of Honor
FRANKLIN — Andrew Sullivan, a member of Troop 90 had an Eagle Court of Hnor at Immaculate Conception Church in Franklin.
Troop 90 is chartered by the Franklin Recreation Commission and proudly has had 12 Eagle Scouts in its past years.
In addition to the many merit badges Sullivan earned, he had to achieve leadership positions within the troop, and demonstrate proficiency at them. He had to identify, plan, organize, direct and produce a significant Eagle project for the Franklin Community. Using all his learned skills, Sullivan presented his project to Mayor Paul Crowley and Franklin’s Borough Council. His project is a bird observation building and identification chart at the water's edge of the Franklin Pond.
Troop 90 has adopted the pond area for many of its Eagle projects. Bird enthusiasts can come from miles around to enjoy this quiet secluded area to view the many birds that frequent and visit our pond, for many years to come.
Sullivan is a senior at Wallkill Valley Regional High School and plans to continue his scouting as a leader in Troop 90, helping to guide his fellow scouts along their trail in scouting. Troop 90 meets every Monday at the Franklin Pond Senior Center at 7 p.m. To join, call Scoutmaster Gary Hintzen at 973-827-3194.
