The Wallkill Valley Football Rangers donated $1,300 from the sale of pink homecoming T-shirts to the Friends of Robbie Foundation.

The shirts were donated by Stand Out Sports in Ogdensburg.

Zack Clarken, Travis Snyder, Andrew Barta and Jason Barta were joined by their mothers, Nicole Clarken, Sara Snyder and Kathryn Barta, all breast cancer survivors to present the donation to Sue Killacky, a foundation board member.

The Friends of Robbie Foundation was formed to honor the legacy of Robert Zimmerer, a Wallkill Valley Regional High School graduate. At age 24, he was diagnosed with a rare form of colon cancer that metastasized to his liver. He fought the disease for 2 1/2 years, then died Oct. 12, 2015, three weeks after his 27th birthday.

Since his death, the foundation has raised more than $100,000 to help cancer patients. It supports patients at the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center in Morristown and many local families who have financial struggles during their treatment.
