The Nutrition Store comes to Sparta
Sparta — Jerry and Diana Katzenstein first opened The Nutrition Store in 2009 as an outlet for health and nutrition products, including a wide variety of vitamins and health supplements. The business grew quickly, and at the suggestion of a friend, they began selling smoothies. To their surprise, the smoothies were a hit, inspiring them to expand into other freshly prepared food and juice options.
From its humble beginnings, The Nutrition Store continued to grow, always keeping the goal of healthy nutrition in mind. Today, it offers a full kitchen selection including a wide variety of wraps, bowls and juice options. The food is locally sourced — chicken and steak come from local butchers and produce is delivered from local businesses.
The Nutrition Store in Sparta hopes to build on the reputation of their Franklin location, which has a number of loyal clientele. A quick peek at the store’s Facebook account reveals hundreds of likes and comments from fans about the excellence of the food and drink options. The grand opening of the Sparta grill generated considerable interest, and gave Sparta residents easier access to the tasty options.
Jerry Katzenstein is not only committed to his nutrition bar, he is committed to his customers. He states that he is in the business “not just for the sale, but for the wellness of the customers.” He feels that his business contributes to community wellness by providing health supplements and healthy alternatives to many restaurant options that are more focused on their budget than on the quality and nutrition of their food.
