The Rescue Round-Up

One Step Closer Animal Rescue (OSCAR)
OSCAR has several pet adoption days coming up this month:
Saturday, April 19 from 1-3 p.m. - Animal Hospital of Sussex County, 169 US 206, Augusta (GPS: 169 Hampton House Rd. Newton)
Saturday, April 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Pet Valu, 1885 NJ 57, Hackettstown.
On Sunday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., OSCAR will be collecting food and supplies at ShopRite of Newton, 125 Water St., Newton.
Two dogs that OSCAR is still seeking homes for are Drake and Little Girl. Drake is a one year-old German Shepherd/Hound mix who was as one of eight in a litter, but the rest of his brothers and sisters have found their forever homes. He is very smart and will sit for a treat and give paw. Drake is neutered, house trained and up to date with shots.
Little Girl is a 9-month-old Terrier/Schnauzer mix who ended up at death row in a high-kill shelter down south. The shelter could not bear to see her put down. Little Girl is great with kids and other dogs, but not so with cats.

Eleventh Hour Rescue
Bear Barnwell is a very handsome 4-year-old male Chow Chow mix. His owner unfortunately passed away and his remaining family members couldn’t take him in, so he was left at a kill shelter. Once his time was up at the shelter, Eleventh Hour Rescue stepped in to save him from a different fate. He is a good boy who likes human companionship. Bear can be shy at first meeting and would prefer a quiet home without much excitement. He is used to living in a home environment, so he is housetrained and walks well on a leash too.
Sissy Clayton is a beautiful, young dog with lots of love to give and she’s not shy about sharing her affection. Unfortunately, her previous owners neglected her and left her behind to fend for herself. She was starving and had developed a nasty skin condition, losing much of her hair due to malnutrition. Sissy has made a full recovery from her past and she is ready to find that special home. If you have lots of love to give and are willing to receive that love back to you 10 times over, then you should adopt her.
