Troop 90 member reaches Eagle Scout rank
FRANKLIN — Stephen Patrick Sullivan, a junior at Wallkill Valley Regional High School, is the newest Eagle Scout from Troop 90.
Starting as a Tiger Cub in the Cub Scout Program Pack 90 Franklin, Sullivan always aspired to get his Eagle Rank. A difficult and long trail only accomplished by 4 percent of boys who start scouting was his to embrace.
On March 28, 2015, Sullivan received his Eagle Scout Award at his Eagle Court of Honor at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Franklin. Stephen’s Eagle Service project which took approximately 115 hours to complete was the construction and placement of 12 wood duck nest boxes around Franklin Pond. Sullivan would like to thank all who assisted in the overall completion and success of his Eagle Scout Project.
However, he is not done on his trail in Boy Scouting; having earned an additional 5 merit badges beyond what is required for the rank of Eagle Scout, in which he has earned a bronze Eagle Palm. In the future he has his sights on additional merit badges and Eagle Palms. His adventures in scouts will continue this summer, as he has the opportunity to be a part of the trek crew. Their objective is to complete a 50-plus mile canoe trek at High Adventure Boy Scouts of America Camp Sabattis, in the Adirondacks of New York state.
Sullivan follows not only his brother, but also his grandfather who are both Eagle Scouts.
