Wallkill Valley Regional High School senior Georgia Wheeler was one of nine award winners in the Art Administrators of New Jersey’s (AANJ) 36th annual high school art show, Emerging Artists.
She received a medal and a monetary prize for her large watercolor portrait “Midterms” at a reception at Kean University.
She now is eligible for the 2024 AANJ High School Achievement Award.
Wheeler will submit her art portfolio in the competition for that award, which comes with a larger monetary prize and recognition as a nominee for the New Jersey Governor’s Award in Art Education.
This is her second time winning an award in the Emerging Artists show.
