Hardyston. The local chapter now has 21 new members, who were inducted virtually.
Twenty one members were inducted into Wallkill Valley Regional High School chapter of the National Art Honor Society, when the school held its first-ever YouTube induction ceremony.
“I am so proud of each and every one of them for their participation and dedication especially during this most challenging of times,” said Amy Fairweather, fine arts instructor.
There are now 56 Wallkill Valley art students in the organization.
“The National Art Honor Society is an organization whose purpose is to inspire and recognize students who have shown outstanding ability in and dedication to art, and to bring an artistic awareness to the school and community,” Fairweather said.
The 30-minute ceremony was filled with statements from guest speakers, a showing of artwork, and comments from each of the inducted students.
The ceremony was led by the chapters officers, president Vanessa Hasbrouck, vice president Jack Lally, secretary Kelly DeFinis, historian Aimee Wunej, treasurer C.J. Kula, and activities chair Danielle Berry.
