Earlier this year, a state law was passed permitting in-person, early voting in New Jersey. This allows all registered voters to cast their ballot in person, using a voting machine, during a nine-day period prior to Election Day.

This year, for the first time, New Jersey voters will have the option to vote early on voting machines at “Vote Centers” in their county. The three sites designated as Vote Centers in Sussex County are:

1. Sussex County Fairgrounds, County Building, Augusta

2. Sussex-Wantage Branch Library, Wantage

3. Louise Childs Branch Library, Hopatcong

The Early Voting period for the November 2, 2021 General Election is Oct. 23 through 31, with the following hours: Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Registered voters will receive a Sample Ballot in the mail 1-2 weeks before Election Day, which will provide address information for the Vote Centers, as well as voting hours.

In addition to voting early in-person on a machine, voters can:

● Vote by mail-in ballot: The deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot is Tuesday, October 26th.

● Vote in-person by machine on Election Day, Tuesday, November 2nd at your designated polling location.

● Vote a paper ballot in-person at the Sussex County Clerk’s office during regular business hours up to 3:00 p.m. November 1st (1 day prior to election) and Saturday, October 30th, 9:00 a.m. to noon.
