Local students win poster contest

Alaina Kurish, Alexandra Colfax of Franklin School and Karleigh Noll of Hardyston School were top winners in the “My County” poster contest. The contest was open to all fourth-graders in the state, and “here in Sussex County we had an enthusiastic response,” said County Clerk Erma Gormley. Locally, Sussex County students were asked to create posters that depict “all that is special and unique about Sussex County.” The posters were judged by a panel of judges from Sussex County Community College. Alaina Kurish of Immaculate Conception School was first place winner; Alexandria Colfax of Franklin Elementary School won second place and Hanna Bush of Stillwater School was third place winner. In addition the judges awarded a Tourism Award to Karleigh Noll of Hardyston School.
