Poems for peace

Second-grader Donna Nicole Zaines reads her poem at the Speak Out for Peace program held recently at Cedar Mountain School. Behind her, Kevin Bresuch, Olivia Rannazzidi, Grace Logue, Jason Huby, Georgeann Hicks and Michael Clancy show off the Peace ‘quilt’ they made together. The event was part of the afterschool program NJafter3 KEEP. Artwork created by second-, third- and fourth-graders was displayed; children read poetry and performed songs all related to their own experiences of respect, kindness and caring.
