Boys soccer team wins division
HAMBURG. Rangers’ record is 8-1-1 for the season.
Ivan Reyes scored the game’s lone goal off a pass from Gavin Walker in the second half to lift the Wallkill Valley boys soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Lenape Valley there Thursday afternoon, Oct. 24.
With the win, the Rangers captured the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference Colonial Division championship - its first title in eight years - with an 8-1-1 record under head coach Sean Neal.
Cayden Collins for Wallkill Valley (13-3-1) earned his ninth shutout of the season.
Reyes leads the team in scoring with 15 goals and four assists, with Kooper Nicolai right behind with 13 goals and seven assists.

Cross country
Delana Einreinhofer placed fifth with a time of 19:54.00 and Jackson Saltzman was 28th with a time of 18:45.70 to pace the Wallkill Valley girls and boys, respectively, at the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Championships on Oct. 24 at Phillipsburg.
Also placing for the girls were Haley Murphy (23rd in 21:57.60), Bailey Cook (75th in 28:27.50), Temperance Settembrino (83rd in 30:42.40) and Faith Newsome (85th in 32:35.70).
Other place-winners for the boys were Patrick Maloney (35th in 19:24.70), Zachary Neiper (51st in 20:32.10), Michael Gibson (62nd in 21:09.90), Samuel Tobachnick (64th in 21:21.20), Daniel DeFinis (99th in 24:26.20) and Ty Dreifus (108th in 25:28.60).
Up next for both squads is the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) sectional championships Saturday, Nov. 2 at Woodland Park.
Girls soccer
Trinity Richter and Jules Capriglione each scored but the Rangers bowed to Sussex Tech, 5-2, at home Tuesday, Oct. 22.
Adrianna Romeo leads the team in scoring with 11 goals and eight assists while Capriglione, Chloe Geuther and Richter have scored four goals apiece for Wallkill Valley (4-12).
Field hockey
Lexi Cammarata scored off a feed from Ella Darvalics, but Wallkill Valley bowed to Jefferson, 3-1, at home Wednesday, Oct. 23.
Wallkill Valley (2-15) has been led by Darvalics (10 goals, nine assists) and Cammarata (nine goals, two assists) this season.
