Aug. 9 Fernando Reyes, 26, of New York City, was sentenced to 364 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility, to run concurrently with a prison term he is now serving in New York, and was given credit for 67 days served. A probationary term will follow his incarceration. He must pay total fines and penalties of $I55 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on July 18 to receiving stolen property, a third degree crime. On Oct. 2, 2006 in Vernon Township, he and a co-defendant broke into a condominium unit and took a 32” LG LCD television set. Jason A. Sneider, 39, of Wantage, was sentenced to one year probation and was ordered to perform 25 hours of community service. He must pay total fines and penalties of $155 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on June 26 to providing false information on a firearms application, a third degree crime. On Nov. 29, 2005, he gave false information regarding his criminal arrest record and use of controlled dangerous substances while applying for a firearms purchaser identification card. Erica Watkins, 26, of Port Jervis, NY, was sentenced to one year probation and jail time of 16 days served. She pled guilty on June 26, to contempt, a fourth degree crime. She disobeyed a judicial order specifically prohibiting her from removing her two children from the state. Zachery Norman, 20, of Sussex, was sentenced to two years probation, jail time of 42 days served and restitution of $3,833. He pled guilty on July 2, to theft by unlawful taking of moveable property, a third degree crime, Norman was responsible for items stolen from a series of vehicles in the Sussex Borough/Wantage Township area. An indictment charges Shayne B. Ogden, 45, of Byram, with one count of first degree sexual assault, one count of second degree sexual assault and one count of second degree endangering the welfare of a child. The case was investigated by Detective Duffy and Patrolman Matarann from the Byram Township Police Department, Detective Sgt. Peter of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office and Detective Costello formerly of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office. Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next 6 weeks. A Grand Jury indictment is a charge only. The defendant is presumed innocent until guilt may be proved at a jury trial. An Thomas Liddell, 50, of Vernon, was charged with two counts of first degree sexual assault, six counts of second degree sexual assault, four counts of third degree criminal sexual contact, two counts of fourth degree criminal sexual contact, five counts of first degree endangering the welfare of children, 23 counts of second degree endangering the welfare of children and one count of fourth degree endangering the welfare of children. The case was investigated, by Patrolman Scudieri, Patrolman Reid and Detective Jernick from the Vernon Police Department and Detective Rude, Detective, Perez, Detective Williams and Detective Sgt. Peter of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office. Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next six weeks. A Grand Jury indictment is a charge only. Roe, 42, of Newton, was sentenced to 270 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and was given credit for 11 days served. He must pay total fines and penalties of $155 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on June 11 to theft, a fourth degree crime. On April 5, 2006, Roe took several model toy trains belonging to his stepfather, which he later sold to a toy store in Westfield. Raul Cinto-Tiburcio, 32, of Newton, was sentenced to two years probation and 10 days Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program. He pled guilty on June 25, to possession of a BB gun without a permit, a third degree crime. Evan Dorcas, 28, of Cuddebackville, Pa,, was sentenced to two years probation. As a condition of his probation he was ordered to serve 90 days in the Sussex County Jail. In addition, Dorcas was ordered to pay $1,330 in monetary penalties, to undergo a substance abuse evaluation and a seven month driver’s license suspension. He pled guilty on June 25, to the third degree crime of possession of heroin, the disorderly persons offense of assault by auto and speeding. At the time of his guilty plea, he admitted that on Feb. 21, he was driving north on Route 206 in Montague at 62 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone when he struck a school bus. He was also found to be in possession of 43 bags of heroin. Michael Benedicto, 25, of Vernon Township, was sentenced to probation for a period of one year. As a condition of his probation, he was ordered to serve 30 days in the Sussex County Jail and to pay $280 in monetary penalties. He pled guilty on June 25, to a charge of the fourth degree crime of violating the terms of his Community Supervision For Life and the fourth degree charge of violating the terms of Megan’s Law by failing to notify the police of an address change. Benedicto, a previously convicted sex offender, was ordered by the court to comply with the terms of Megan’s Law and Community Supervision for Life. Benedicto admitted to the court that between May 12 and May 23 he had violated the terms of his Community Supervision for Life by failing to live at an address approved by parole, by failing to obtain permission from his parole officer to move to a new residence, and by failing to report to his parole officer. Benedicto also admitted that he had moved from his approved address in Vernon to a new address in Vernon without first notifying the Vernon Township Police Department of his intention to move to a new address. Terrance Cooper, 42, of Newton, was sentenced to four years in New Jersey State Prison. He is required to serve 26 months prior to being eligible for parole. In addition, Cooper was ordered to pay $2,380 in monetary penalties and to serve a six months driver’s license suspension. He pled guilty on June 25, to two counts of third degree distribution of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school. At the time of his guilty plea, he admitted that on March 26 and March 29 he distributed cocaine from his home on Main Street to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Narcotics Task Force. The distributions occurred within 1,000 feet of St. Joseph’s Elementary School. Flavio R. Montanez, 32, of Newark, was sentenced to one year probation and 50 hours of community service. He pled guilty on June 25, to fourth degree falsifying/tampering with records. He admitted to presenting a fictitious Social Security card at The Division of Motor Vehicles in Newton. Aug. 13 Casey R. Powers, 23, of Newton, was sentenced to two years probations, 210 days in the County Jail. He pled guilty on June 14, to third degree theft. He admitted he stole jewelry valued at approximately $6,000. Armando Matos, 40, of Hackettstown, was sentenced to three years drug court probation, 24 days in the county jail, a short term inpatient substance abuse treatment, $1,205 in fines and a six month loss of driver’s license. He pled guilty on May 29 to the third degree crime of possession of heroin. He admitted possessing heroin in Wantage Township on March 25 after he suffered a drug overdose. The matter was investigated by New Jersey State Police Trooper B. Cosh. Charles Kylis III, 41, of Franklin, pled guilty to the third degree crime of possession of cocaine. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 21. He was found to be in possession of nine vials of crack cocaine following a motor vehicle stop by Ogdensburg Police Officer Chris Greene.
