Warwick, N.y. — A Vernon Township school bus hit a passenger car Wednesday afternoon, June 4, as both vehicles were heading north on Route 94 near Pennings Lane. The driver of the passenger car, Ursula Hanners of Lancaster, N.H., stopped to make the right turn onto Pennings Lane, according to a Warwick Fire Department spokesperson. The bus did not stop, pushing the car into an embankment. The passenger in the car, Curt Hanners, also of Lancaster, was pinned in the car and firefighters from Warwick used a hydraulic cutting tool to cut away the roof. Curt Hanners was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center. The bus driver, identified as Kimberly Rossi of Highland Lakes, Ursula Hanners, and three children ages 6 and 7 were treated at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick and released.
