I’m writing this letter as a private citizen but from the perspective of a board member.
Donna Carey has served on the Board of Education for nine years, but the past two years, I have personally witnessed her dedication to serve not only the students in this district but the families as a whole.
She is not afraid to challenge the narrative, even if it means standing alone.
Her personal journey of immigrating to this country, learning a new language and becoming a successful mechanical engineer is inspiring!
Donna brings a specific skill set, a vision, an understanding and enthusiasm for what can be accomplished with hard work and determination. Donna’s three children, graduating at the top of their classes, are a testament to that!
The complexities of her life experience and her perspective are invaluable to a BOE because education alone does not equate to leadership skills! It takes character, compassion and courage to do the right thing.
Lately Donna has faced fierce and false accusations, which she has stood against with integrity and the truth, something else that I admire about her. You can trust what she says.
Donna and Robin stand out as a clear choice for BOE.
