I no longer live in Hardyston Township, but I grew up there. I attended the Hardyston Elementary School on Route 23 when it was only a few years old.
As a result of my previous political life at the county, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with my former hometown at many levels and participating with many of its capable leaders at various events over the years.
It’s with this backdrop that I’m indulging to weigh in on the election for the Hardyston Board of Education.
It’s about the kids. It’s that simple. You elect someone who you can trust to do the right thing from the get-go. The goal is not to get re-elected but rather to simply do the job you were put there for.
It’s not that complicated, unless somebody forgets that we still live in a small pond.
Donna Carey and Robin Marotta have a common focus to do what’s right for the children, to keep the ball moving forward, while being keenly aware of fiscal responsibility and conservation.
Campaigns can sophomorically lose their focus in many instances with petty innuendos and other political static, but this team has waded through the irrelevant distractions and kept their message clear. It’s about the kids.
It’s not that complicated. At the end of the day, you simply have to walk the same sidewalks and still be able to look each other in the eye.
I encourage your consideration of Danuta “Donna” Carey and Clarissa “Robin” Marotta for Hardyston Township Board of Education.
