As mayor of Hardyston Township, I am required, as is the Township Council, to give autonomy to the Board of Education in running our K-8 schools.
It’s no secret that almost 30 percent of our students fail the state English tests and almost 50 percent fail the state math tests.
This is happening while almost 20 percent are absent, bullying remains a problem and the staff turnover at the elementary school is at an alarming rate. We need BOE leadership with experience in resolving problems.
In 2022, the Kids First team campaigned and was elected, based on parental rights, transparency and fiscal responsibility. Currently, they are in a 4-5 minority vote and cannot make the changes they seek to achieve these commitments.
This November, Donna Carey (current BOE member) and Robin Marotta of the Kids First Hardyston team are seeking your vote for Hardyston BOE.
If successful, they will be the majority vote and can make the changes needed to make our students competitive in today’s world.
Please vote for Donna Carey and Robin Marotta for Hardyston Board of Education.
